Shorter handling times in chemical logistics thanks to smart networking
Richter and Gruber supported the launch phase of a digital platform that responds to a key problem in chemical logistics.
Repetitive processes in particular - for example, when vehicle data and documents have to be entered every time a vehicle enters a site - result in unnecessary friction losses. The time-consuming registration process at the site gate is not only stressful for our drivers, but also difficult to plan for our scheduling department.
The innovative solution automates the registration process and reduces the handling time per truck by up to 30 minutes. Vehicle data and relevant documents are stored centrally - this saves time, reduces sources of error and relieves the burden on everyone involved along the supply chain.
The article “Digital access to the production site” ("Digital ans Werkstor") in the current issue of CHEManager (05/2025) shows how the platform works and what potential lies in its further application.
